Hello,
I am a student in an engineering school and I have to build a robot. My robot collects small trash in parks and on sidewalks. To recharge our robot we inspired ourselves with automatic landmowers charging stations. The problem is the following: i have to build that station because the dimension are not the same as the landmowers and i can not find the “peaks” that come from the recharging station and go in to the robot. Nor the connectics inside the robot that make the connection between the peaks and the charging station. As you can see I am having a problem figuring how to charge my robot so I hope you can help me!
Thank you for your time and have a nice day,
Morgane
Hello @Morgane and welcome to the forum
you can use nickelplated copperstrips to bend your own connector landingstrips
The bot then connects to these strips with springloaded metall rollers or sliders made off phosphor-bronce. That material is a good conductor and can act as a spring, too.
Hello !
Thank you so much for your answer. the nickelplated copperstrips are a great idea! For the metal roller why would you use springloaded ones ? And also I can only seem to find roller that attach on the two ends but for my robot it only needs to be attached on one side. Did you have a reference I could use for these rollers?
