How to adapt the RB-Nex-75 wheels

Hello,

I would like to connect my Nexus RB-Nex-75 wheels (60mm onmidirectionnal) to a motor shaft of 5mm diameter.
This only adaptator found on robotshop is the RB-Nex-98. However, I am not sure these two products are compatibles. Could you confirm that ? Or do you have other compatible adaptor ?
Does the RB-Nex-98 shaft adaptor can be screwed to the wheels to avoid sliding and assure the torque transmition from the motor shaft to the wheel ?

Thank you !

Yes, RB-Nex-98: 5mm Aluminum Mounting Hub is compatible with RB-Nex-75: 60mm Aluminum Omni Wheel
The pressure between the two ends of the hub keeps the wheel locked to the hub. Ensure you tighten it well.

Thanks for your repply.

I am very surprised that the only pressure between the two ends ensure enough tighten at high torque.
Do you have any idea of an approximativ maximum torque between the hub and the wheel ?

Because, if I compare with other mouting hub (like RB-Pol-135), there is 4 holes to ensure a strong mounting between the hub and the wheel.

You are correct - this mounting method likely cannot transfer as much torque as you would get with a hub which screwed into wheel.
Unfortunately there are very few 5mm hub options, so the best option (if you can) would be to enlarge a 4mm hub’s bore to 5mm

enlarge a 4mm hub to 5mm … hum, that is a good idea !
However, even with a 4mm hub I am not enable to find a compatible reference for this Nexus 60mm wheel (holes for hub mouting are located at 18,5mm from the center).

I think it’s so bad to sell a wheel in your shop, without any good mounting solution neither compatible hub …

The 4mm hub in the previous reply is compatible with the 60mm omniwheel you specified:

robotshop.com/en/60mm-alumin … wheel.html
Note that it is very difficult for manufacturers to create products for all mounting options, and 5mm diameter shafts are not very standard.

According to the datasheet of these products:

  • Mounting holes of the wheels are located at 18.5mm from the center
  • Mounting holes of the hub or located at 21mm from the center.

Sorry but for me, these products are not compatible, or else, I misunderstood something …

Thank you for clarifying, and we now see what you mean.
This was the manufacturer’s suggestion to us and is indicated on their product pages as well.
We have contacted them to clarify and will get back to you as soon as we receive a reply.

The manufacturer got back to us:
We are sure the 14145 is compatible with18018, but we had a mistake on one of the drawings. We are sorry for this and will follow up with a new drawing.

haaa, sounds good !
it’s more clear now.
Thank you for your help.

Hopping that the manaufacturer will update its drawing soon.

We have uploaded the most recent file they provided:

Hope this helps.
