How do I calibrate the joints on a Unitree robot?

To calibrate the joints on your Unitree robot, first ensure the robot is on a stable, level surface and turned on but not carrying a payload.

Use the Unitree mobile app or the robot’s handheld controller to access the maintenance or settings menu and select the “Joint calibration” or “Leg calibration” function. Follow the on‑screen prompts: the robot will cycle through each joint to find its neutral position and realign the encoders. Do not touch or move the robot during this process.

Joint calibration is recommended after shipping, heavy impacts, joint replacement or whenever the robot doesn’t stand straight or moves unevenly. After the calibration routine completes, test basic motions to confirm the joints are aligned. If the robot still leans or behaves abnormally, contact Unitree support for further diagnosis or repair.
