How can I connect a wheel to this motor?

Hey guys,

I’m doing a new project and I bought a motor/gearbox combo but discovered that the gearbox included is not fast enough. What I would actually like to do is connect the motor directly to the wheel. I’ve supplied some images below to give you a better idea of what I am trying to do. I’m quite new to this mechanical stuff…

I am wondering if what I’m trying to achieve can actually be done with this kind of motor?
Is there some kind of socket fitting that goes over this small cog.

Hi garethevs3,

By connecting the motor directly you will loose a lot of torque and might not be able to make your robot move.
However it might be possible to adapt the wheel to the motor, do you have the motor shaft diameter ?
