How can I apply a brake without power supply for this motor

Hi there,

I have found a motor that I would like to use for my project. https://www.robotshop.com/ca/en/12v-12rpm-81102oz-in-hd-planetary-gearmotor.html

I was wondering if anyone knew if this motor was back drivable or not? And if so, how can I prevent it from being back drivable without a power supply. I know it is possible with a worm gear attached, but is this motor compatible with any worm gears on the robot shop? And if not how could I produce this power-free brake.

That motor is not intended to be back-driven, though the planetary gears mean it can be with sufficient torque. If you attach a worm gear, that will add a further gear down and the worm gear assembly will needs its own support structure. The output shaft of the motor is 6mm, so the following might be compatible:
