This is an ongoing robotics project originally conceived to help improve my grandkids science and math grades and to introduce them to a world where you can dream up ideas then see them become reality as you build with your own hands and mind ... creativity! Actually, I think we've innocently cheated their generation out of this pleasure with all of the amazing technology that you can just buy ... ;-) Anyway, we keep a journal at: Appiphania.com. We'll also post stuff here at LMR when we think it'll be useful to others.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://community.robotshop.com/robots/show/homer

Nice job, I am going to follow your progress. I too built the same kit. How did you go about mounting the plexiglass?

I see in the picture the plexiglass is mounted with aluminum standoffs.

That’s correct…

Hi Rogue, We used the standard 1 in standoffs from radioshack. Worked perfectly.

Hi Mark

Yep, same kit. I used the existing mounts on the rover and 4 standard 1 in standoffs from radioshack, same thread, so it worked perfectly. I used the same standoffs to mount the 4x20 lcd display. The header is mounted on the 1/4 in standoffs from rs as well.

With the sonar on front and back, it reminds me of a pushme-pullyou.
