Holding the battery in place

So, perhaps my only problem with the VTail design as current, is that no matter how much I tighten the battery straps, the battery inevitably slides forward or back during flight and/or landing. It’s a big weight, and I imagine it shifting is a “bad thing”. I’m wondering if you have any ideas for how to keep it more secure from a forward/backward sense.

I’m using Lynxmotions’ 3800 mAh 3S cell.

I would consider going so far as to make it more tedious to remove, if you guys maybe knew of where I could get an extension cable for the 3S balance port charger. (The charger I bought from you guys has you plug it right into the side of the unit.)

I had this in my stash of hardware, it’s basically a little metal nub held in place by and M3 screw.

This will prevent the drastic “battery falls out front of drone” scenario, though the battery can still slide a good inch or so back from this position.

One of the best way to keep it in place would be foam tape. One side foam the other tape or Velcro tape.
This will avoid it to move under landing conditions.

We do not have the extension for the charge port. Is there any need for this to be extended ?

I have this charger:

Random other feedback: I live in the US, and there’s no indicator that warned me this came with a European power plug instead of a US one. Thankfully I had an international adapter handy.

Anyways, the balance port is directly on the side of the unit, and the Lynxmotion battery only has a one inch cable. It’s kinda hard to arrange comfortably. An extension cable for that connector would not only make that easier, but potentially allow me to charge the battery without removing it from the bottom of the quadcopter.

You should never charge a LiPo inside your copter but in a LiPo safe bag.
Most of the LiPo include a short cable because it avoid the cable to be cut or broken by accident. Yes an extension for charging could be handy, we will take a look at getting some.

The charger should come with a US plug, that’s probably a mistake from the manufacturer.

Yeah, there’s no way I could put my battery inside a bag while charging without an extension cable.

Well, i’m using our Lynxmotion batteries with a bag without problem.
It is a bit short but it works.

We will look at getting the correct extensions cables.
