Hi guys, I would like to buy the Hitec HS-475HB Servo Motor but i read that it has a 90° rotation, and i need a 180° rotation, so could you explain me how to modify the servo for a 180° rotation or can I buy it with a 180° rotation?
I’ve been looking for some servo motors for a robotic arm, and i have that confusion because in this page i found that the servo has a 90° rotation servocity.com/html/hs-475hb_super_pro_bb.html but I’m not sure about it, the problem is that I need a good movement’s precision in 180° rotation, but not more than 180°. Because of what I read in this page servocity.com/html/hs-475hb_super_pro_bb.html I have the confusion and I don’t know If I need to make a special modification to the servo to have a good movement’s precision in 180° rotation.
Well, I would like to know How much does the shipping (from RobotShop Inc.) costs to Calexico, California or some place near of this.
Here are your shipping options for one small box to California:
Expedited US Business - $14.58 Estimated delivery date: 2008-04-21

I have a standard hitech 311, and when i manually move the motor it does a 180 rotation, but when i use my servo tester, it only rotates at 90 degrees.
I am new to servos soo, i imagine they ARE capable of a 180 rotation max, you probably just need a servo controller to make a 90 degree rotation, 180, backwards, etc.
The confusion may lie in the specifications from Hitec.
The one side pulse travelling value (40degree /ONE SIDE PULSE TRAVELING 400usec) represents the range where the pot inside the servo motor has the rated accuracy. Although the servo motor can go beyond this value, it is limited by the physical stop. It is safe to assume all standard size Hitec analog servos achieve 180 degree rotation range out of the box.
Where did you read that this servo motor only have 90 degree rotation? Most servo motor on the market can go up to 180 degree rotation and more. You want to modify a servo motor only when you need continuous rotation.
