Is this servo true? Is this the next servo Hitec that will replace the 5990TG?
SPECS: Size: 1.57 x 0.79 x 1.50" (40 x 20 x 38mm)
Weight: 2.40oz (68g)
6.0V 7.4V
Speed: 0.15 sec 0.13 sec
Torque: 403 oz/in 486 oz/in
Drivetrain Type: Dual ball bearing
Talk about the wow factor of this much torque in the standard servo package!!!
I can’t comment on that servo! I also can’t comment on the fact that Hitec will be offering more new product in the coming months than ever before in the history of the company! Oh the things I can’t tell you people!
What else can you NOT tell us about
I’m curious just how much you’re NOT allowed to tell us…
Hehehe
transit time of 0.13sec… My god… I almost want to buy one of these for my RCs. It’ll probably hold the steering rack in place like nobody’s business…
I guess Robotis is putting the pressure on Hitec to put out more and more torque???
Whatever happened to that 1000oz-in Hitec servo that was mentioned in Robot Magazine awhile back? It had a silvery body and it was pretty big…
Jim, can you NOT tell us about that either???

No sorry, I think that’s confidential.
So where did you find out about this ‘7950’?

That’s the HSI-1000 servo that is in the works, but release was pushed back. I can’t talk about the digital 805, or the 2.4ghz Optic 6, or the 12 bit serial protocol robot servo. There is more I can’t discuss, but I forgot the details. lol

Hello guys! I just saw the 7950 on sale on ServoCity and was wondering how come I didn’t see it on your site Jim? I hadn’t seen this thread so…
Seems pretty “normal” Hitec size. Does it fit in the SES? Is there any news on other products Hitec will be releasing?
This is exciting, servos get better and better (although usually mechanical stuff don’t advance so fast…). And the Price for this baby is really low.
Guess I’m just slow lately. They told me about it, but I haven’t ordered them yet. If all I had to do was order servos. sigh… I will look into it. Thanks
Low price? You kidding me?

Ok, maybe I shouldn’t have put the really, but it’s a tad less expensive than the 5990, it’s more powerful and faster.
So pretty cool.

You mean as in daisy-chaining servos with one wire to the controller?!?
Like the Robotis stuff? Oh man, that would be fantastic!

That would be really cool. And could also provide all the info like position feedback, torque, amps and temp.

That’s NOT the HSI 1000 servo. I have an HSI 1000 right here on my desk and it weighs ~12.5 oz.
Have fun!
You’re not reading it right. I told Tommy that the 1000 ounce inch servo he saw in Robot Magazine was the 1000, not the 7950!

Wait, does this mean the 645MG’s will drop down to $12.95 each? once the new 400 oz’er is out??
