Hitec 2 Axis Joystick GIM-01 adjust both axes

I have a Hitec 2 Axis Joystick (GIM-01), which is a fantastic product, but I would love the following fix if it exists or someone has a work around for it. I need to have self-centering disabled on both axis, which is easy, and ideally increase the tension on both too. I can easily increase the tension on one axis but, unless I’m missing something, the same adjustment is not possible on the 2nd axis. Can anyone help?

Hi,

Please take a look at the attached picture for the screws that increase/decrease tension on both axis. Please note that the “B” axis self centering can’t be disabled.

Hi bdaouas,

Thanks very much for this. This picture would have been very helpful when I first received these joysticks! My approach was to remove both springs completely since, even on axis A, you cannot have tension without self-centering with the springs attached. Next I used the metal plate (second from the right on your image - apologies I couldn’t see where to attach an image myself) to tension axis A giving me variable tension with no self centering. Unfortunately I see no way to achieve this on Axis B.

Does anyone have any bright ideas?

As you have indicated, there is no self-centering-disable mechanism on axis B (like the one on axis A). Both metal plates on the right are for the axis A. First from the right is for adjusting the clicking effect and second from the right is for the tension on axis A (as you figured). The axis B will be moving free removing its spring, however, you can’t adjust tension like axis B.

Can anyone recommend another joystick with similar spec but with adjustable tension on both axes and no self-centering?

Stephen
