High Torque motor for sumo bot

I am looking for a high torque motor under 100mm in length with a good rpm for a sumobot competition.

These are the two that i have looked at so far but i dont understand why one of the motors is so much cheaper then the other and any suggestions for motors would be great.

Not sure about the prices. Probably due to many factors, including manufacturing techniques, sourcing, transport, etc.

Certainly if torque is your main requirement, the RB-Dfr-670 would most likely be the better choice of the two since it has over three times the stall torque rating (~42 kg-cm vs ~12 kg-cm) and it is quite small (see dimensions).

Of course, under the spur gear motors category, you can find plenty of other powerful motors that seem to fit your maximum length requirement (assuming that 100 mm is for the entire thing, from end of output shaft to power connections), such as the RB-Sct-1027, with a whooping ~146 kg-cm stall torque, but an RPM of 25.

Well, it has a 6 mm D output shaft. Therefore, you’ll need a wheel that is compatible (or a hub that is compatible with both the shaft and the wheel). You can look at “Connection 1” property and find some that are “singe flat” with an inside diameter of 6 mm.

For example, this may fit your needs: RB-Dfr-79, though it is 65 mm in outer diameter. there is also the RB-Gtw-06 that may work for you, outer diameter is 50 mm. The RB-Gtf-16 is similar but with a 70 mm outer diameter.

As mentioned above, you can also use mounting hubs that attach to the output shaft of the motor and the wheel, such as RB-Nex-81 (for RB-Nex mecanum wheels) and RB-Pol-136 for some other types of wheels.
