High torque, 12v reversing gear motor, peak intermittent load ~75nm at ~12rpm

Hello, we have a product development that requires:

  • 12vdc reversing gear motor, equal force in both directions
  • peak intermittent load ~75nm, nominal load will be 5 to 15%
  • ~12rpm is ideal, possible up to 16rpm

Prefer a brushed motor. The operating voltage come from an industrial device that already has a FET driven output of +/-12vdc up to 25a. If a brushless motor is far better to get us to our spec, we can look at this as well, but adds complexity we would prefer to avoid.

Thanks for any insight!

Hi @ericsusa and welcome to our forum.

I was looking through RobotShop selection of the motors and I have found following:

So these two fit into your specs, which are brushed DC geared motor with 12VDC nominal voltage and 12RPM nominal speed. But, rated torque for these is 70 kg.cm, which is around 7Nm, and you need 10 times more…

Thank you, yes we need something with quite a bit more power. The small package of these is nice but we can accommodate bigger.
