High performance AD-DA board will not work properly

Hi!

I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.

Description: I have just purchased the High Precision AD/DA Board. I have followed the installation instructions, but I still can not get it to work with the PI and the C language.

Hardware concerned:High Precision AD/DA Board

Software concerned:ads1256_test.c and dac8552_test.c

Troubleshooting steps already taken:followed the installation instructions

Additional information:when using the dac program only the LEDB light flashes. it never goes dim like the instructions say. When using the ads program, the numbers printed out are all zeroes.

My version of of the bcm2835 is 49.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hello @bill_ryan!

Have you tried executing the test from waveshare’s wiki?
https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/High-Precision_AD/DA_Board

This way we’ll know if the problem comes from the C code or the board itself

Hey @bill_ryan

I am having the exact same problem you are when I run the test codes for this board except my values aren’t just zeroes, I get a wide range of values flashing randomly across all 8 pins, and turning the pot/covering the resistor does not change this pattern. Did you manage to solve this issue?

Any help/ideas would be awesome : ) Thank you !

We gave up. Switched to using a mc3008 atod converter. Works great. We may publish something in the future.
