Hi my friends, i need help for my ch3-r!
I tried very experiencia but nothing, the power is all ok, the connecting ssc-32 to bot board is on but nothing!! please i have 20hours to present this project in my school from Portugal!!
I have a SCC-32 v 2, bot board II and bot atom pro 28.
Hi, it is hard from your description on what problem you are having.
So you have the Atom Pro 28, that I assume is connected to an SSC-32. What else do you have? Do you have it configured to use the PS2 controller?
What software are you running on the Basic Atom Pro? Are you using code that was generated from powerpod? Did you compile it and download it? How did you configure it?
What are you using to power the system? Is it charged? When you power it up does the LED on the SSC-32 light up? If so does it later blink?..
Willl help if I can but right now I don’t know where to start.
Again lets back track and try to get some additional information. My assumption is that you are building the PS2 controlled CHR-3 robot to be controlled by a wireless PS2 controller.
Are you following the tutorials online? If so are you using the main tutorial: lynxmotion.com/images/html/build99c.htm. Did you download the powerpod program? Did the setting all servos to 1500 work? What version of the Basic Atom Pro IDE are you using? Did you compile the powerpod generated program? Did it download sucessfully to the Atom Pro? What power are you using for the BB2 with the Atom Pro and the SSC-32? Are the batteries charged? Do the lights on the PS2 remote controller continue to blink? Are there batteries in the PS2 remtoe? …
When you say you follow the tutorial, that implies that you built the powerpod program. What options, did you choose? Did you chose the Atom Pro IDE (8.0.1.7), with PS2 control, with the right legs for what you choose, for Botboard II (pins 12-15)… You then had it build the basic program, which you compiled and downloaded to your robot.
What does the first few lines of the program look like, does it look like:
; Use Basic Micro ATOM PRO IDE 08.0.1.7
; *** not suitable for IDE 02.2.1.1 (there’s a specific version for this IDE)
; *** not suitable for IDE 05.3.0.0 (there’s a specific version for this IDE)
; Use Basic Atom PRO 28
;************************************************
;*** Basic Atom with SSC-32 and PS2 DualShock ***
Also what are the PS2 controller defines set to? Look in the generated code and see if it looks like:
;-------------Constants
;PS2 Controller / BotBoard II (PS2 controller => pin 12, 13, 14, 15)
DAT con P12
CMD con P13
SEL con P14
CLK con P15
;*** SSC-32 card communication on pin 8 ***
SSC32 con p8
I assume that you have put batteries in the PS2 controller and turned it on. (switch on the bottom). I have sometimes found that I need to turn my CHR-3 on and then turn off my PS2 and then turn it back on and sometimes push the analog button. Also note, these PS2 controllers love to eat batteries, especially if you forget to turn them off. So a fresh set sometimes does the trick. If this does not work, you might want to look at the PS2 controller Tutorial: lynxmotion.com/images/html/build034.htm You need to uncomment the approropriate serout commands in it for your configuration. Good Luck
Is this the handheld part or the receiver on the robot?
These should sync up when power is applied without regard for code or processor wiring. Check the batteries in the transmitter and make sure you have 5vdc going to the receiver.
The LED only blinks tells me that the remote isn’t connected to the receiver. This doesn’t say any thing about the connection between the BB2 and the receiver. This is what you need to do:
Power the BotBoard including the PS2 Receiver
Wait until the led is blinking
Power the PS2 remote using the switch on the bottom of the controller
Just to make sure we understand correctly. In your picture one of the LEDS is on and the other is off. The one on the left (in the picture)stays on and the one on the right blinks. If so this is as several of us have stated that the receiver and transmitter are not connecting and there have been a few good suggestions on what to try.
If it still does not work, it would be good anyway to double check your wiring and jumpers. What color wire is connected to IO pin 12 on the BB2? Did you remove the PS2 jumpers that are on the BB2 just below the 3 buttons? What power jumper do you have going to the connection that is powering up the PS2 controller? A photo of your BB2 showing the wires and jumpers may be helpful.
Also by chance do you have a PS2 game console that you can get your hands on? If so it would be good to verify that the receiver/transmitter work properly. Also if you have a wired PS2 game controller you can try plugging it into the plug on your CHR-3 and see if it works.
