Well, I’m back.
It’s been nothing short of the worst 3 months of my life. A few months ago I found out my parents were both in a bad car accident and I had to leave the next day for Vancouver to see them in the hospital. They both were in and out the O.R. for awhile and it didn’t look good for either of them. My dad was the worst. But after a couple months they got to go home and stayed with them for a while longer. My head is still spinning and the last few months has felt like forever.
I left alot of things hanging up in the air when I left and my partners were barely able to finish any remaining orders we had. So I’m slowly getting everything cleared up and accounted for.
Other big news is I’ve decided to leave my current job after Christmas and run EMT full time. I’ve been offered an opportunity to work as an armed guard for a local Armored Truck Company. They have also shown interest in some of my products and prototypes.
So things will be changing and I will have alot more time to work on new products.
Just wanted to say HELLO!! and let everyone know I didn’t fall off the face of the planet.
Thanks guys. We’ll see what the future holds I guess. I’ve been at my job for almost 8 years so it’s kind of scary quiting. But I’m really tired of it and I have 0 time for my wife and for EMT. So things have to change.
I don’t know if it will pay the bills yet. That’s the scary part. I think the best job ever would be building and designing robots for movie special effects.
You can already buy shirts, pants and jeans with nano-technoloy which prevents water and stains from sticking to the clothing. Its amazing. There was a segment on “How it’s Made” on Discovery where they shows how they make jeans and they talked about jeans with nano-technology in them. In the clip they had a pair of jeans on the table and a bottle of water. As the guy poured the water, the water droplets BOUNCED off of the jeans and landed on them and stayed like little glass marbles. Some even joined together and made a super blob that was like 1-2cm in diameter. It was amazing. They also showed it with a shirt someone was wearing and the water bounced off of the shirt and landed on the floor. You can watch how the water bounced off into little droplets and then landed on the floor leaving a large puddle. Simply amazing what people can do these days!!
But back to topic… I think if you have a BS or MA in EET and show M5I some of your work (you have plenty of ideas and projects to show them) they will hire you in a heart beat
