Hexopod Navigator Project Update

Hello all,

Here are three videos of our project.

The robot uses ssc-32 for servo control, PIC18F4685 as main controller and BlueSMiRF for wireless communication via laptop.

The next stage of the project is to enable robot to climb up and down stairs and also add obstacle detection and navigation abilities.

Great start to your project. 8)

I’d love to see you get that EH to climb stairs. That would be impressive. Most impressive. (Sorry, I’m on a Star Wars quote kick.)

Here’s two more links for our project. It’s doing basic climb-up and obstacle detection:

Its so cute!!!

Nice work! Do you use sensors on leg too, or only (PING ?) sensor so far?

Wow! That was nice seeing it climb up the pizza carton.

Good job! when you comtrol it , it’s by the BLUesmirfs?

Very cool project! Keep up the good work! 8)

Thank you all for your support.

Here’s a new video of the robot climbing up and down :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks! We’re sending basic commands from our laptop via the BlueSmiRF. We are not controlling it but simply commanding it to go forward and etc.

cheers!

We are not using sensors on legs at this point. We using our IR sensor and a pan&tilt to scan and detect obstacles. The height of the box is the maximum that this robot can climb.

If time allows, we might place some “bump” sensors on the legs to “feel” the ground and etc…
