Hexaspider

cool!

cool little robot! Now I see your robot spider, I want to see mine walking …xD I should start working again on it as soon as i have time. (and as always too many projects going on). Thanks for shaking me awake haha.

Clever

That so imaginary it is art.

Just one comment about your

Just one comment about your PCB layout. I have never used the toner transfer myself, but it seems to me that you  could be better off with regular traces than the copper pour. Make regular fat traces as this is no SMD board.

Nice photo

Nice photo documentation!

Hope to see a video soon!

You guys crack me up

No details escape your eyes. Really, I thought the hour long head-to-toe Chinese massage for less than $20 was where the deal was lol

Thanks for the positive responses everyone!

Duly noted, cap’n.

The initial PCB was a complete and utter failure on so many levels :facepalm here: Since I have to start from the beginning again I’ll give your ideas a go. I was rushed for time and just stuck to what has worked before but that sensation has passed for the time being. Now I feel free to screw around again  Thx m8!

Fatter traces/less planes +1!

I redesigned the PCB with a ground plane and more substantial servo power traces. Just wanted to say it was much easier to etch and populate this one. This 1" square board was a little tricky indeed. Good advice, Mr. Andersen.

Aye aye, sir!

Video hopes fullfilled

Nice!

Is he having problems crawling? Or it is just the leads below hold him back?

Yea! Congrats, JAX. It’s

Yea! Congrats, JAX. It’s looking good in the 2nd video.

Looks like a done deal

You have yourself a robot sir!

It avoids with style and seems more alive than some. Hats off to ya! Great robot!

Thank you

Almost, not quite a done deal, very close however. I added a list of more things I have/want to do after I posted the video. I can almost taste my first checked “complete” box, though

Nice
Even better! Cant wait to see what you come up with.

Now it’s more stylish! Good

Now it’s more stylish! Good one!

Great case
I like the way it looks with the new skin. Can’t wait to see the “fur”

thank you

I signed up on LMR just so I could say Thank you!

Looks like you worked out

Looks like you worked out most of the… bugs.

Nice stuff, JAX! Love the new body too.

Lookin good there JAX, I'm interested to see what changes are made in the 'completed' version.

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of place do you work that you have PCR tubes lying around?

Thanks you guys lol The

Thanks you guys lol The completed version will have fur and aesthetic additions and some programming additions. Make it spidery.

I work at a biotech company that focuses on robotic DNA screening platforms. I get a lot of low-level research refuse that I find useful at the workbench. One of the perks I guess.
