Thanks you guys lol The completed version will have fur and aesthetic additions and some programming additions. Make it spidery.
I work at a biotech company that focuses on robotic DNA screening platforms. I get a lot of low-level research refuse that I find useful at the workbench. One of the perks I guess.
After breaking out the bot during battle conditions I’ve seen the coding isn’t quite right. Other than a little time on that, this bot is in the books.
The good points:
I liked how it came together, real fluid-like. Truly a maximization of the 08M2. 2040 bytes used, all pins occupied.
The combination of feelers and distance sensor worked A+
Even though it’s a little 400mAH battery it has enough juice to entertain for a decent time.
It came together in two months… a personal record!
The low points:
The look of the legs went a little south with the yarn applied. In hindsight I’d probably just paint them black and call it good.
Working with the 1" square board with no PTHs was quite an ordeal.
Memory challenges left the personality routines a little sparse.
Electro-guts were forced to be visible on the backside.
