Hercules 4WD help

Hello. I found the Hercules 4WD very nice and sturdy. Easy to build (mechanically). The bord was much harder. Insufficient description accompanied the kit and the wiki page is awful. The board upload process was not described properly. Just installing the driver on windows 8.1 was a nightmare. No information on that mentioned in the product description. Also steps for setting the arduino environment to Yun was hard to find.

My problems now are that the rover won’t run straight. Don’t know if its a mechanical or electrical problem. Thought that maybe the board needed feedback through the motor encoder wires but I find no information whatsoever regarding the encoders. No code examples. Strange.

Next, since the bord seems to be a relative of the arduino Yun. I tried to connect a simple RC servo. Tried D11 pin which is supposed to be PWM capable on the Yub, No luck. Just jitter.

I think that it must be mentioned in the kit description that this product is far from plug and play. It’s really hard to find information. Very sparse information also on the seedstudio forum. I would recommend it only to poeple who know how the inside of a microcontroller works. Just knowledge on pins and code doesn’t get yout through here.
