Help with Neato D80 charging and error 3000

Hello, please help me diagnose my Neato D80 that has been acting strangely and currently non-functional. Bought it 3 years ago and has been working flawlessly until now. 1st symptom was saying the battery was dead after it had been on the charger all day. So I figured it was a bad battery as I replaced the battery about 3 months prior. Bought a neato brand battery and installed. Now giving me the “3000 error press OK.” Turns on, brush spins up, and then shuts down etc. Did some looking on here and tried all the typical fixes; compressed air, power cycling, etc. Belt is ok and not slipping. Installed neato connect and when trying to run the laser, the motor never spins up and per neato connect the lidar screen is blank. Cannot see that the laser is even turning on. At this point it is still acting like it has a dead battery too. Charge it and when power cycling to reset, it turns back on and say my battery is low. Now doing the thing where it says open my dust bin and push switch to on. These were all symptoms in the past that the battery was low but I have a total of 3 batteries on hand and 2 brand new and one semi-used and all have this issue. At this point not sure what is wrong. Was thinking the lidar motor or diode was bad but didn’t think that would be causing the issue with the charging. Wondering if the board is bad. Is there a way to update the firmware on the D80s? Any other thoughts ???

Hi,

The issue with the battery can be caused by a defective MotherBoard.

Also, if you have the Error 3000, your RPS will have to be inspected. It could be the motor or the laser itself.

You may update the firmware on the Neato’s website.
