Help to a new comer

Hi there everyone on this forum.

I’m new to robot building and I am wondering where to start. What programs do I have to learn? What are the programming languages do expert robot builders use?

Also I am wondering what it will take to make a 6 foot tall robot. I am talking about Bi-pedal, 2 arms, a torso, voice/face recognition, AI etc. Please do not mistake this for trolling or me trying to fish out attention I am seriously interested in robotics and I want to make this a reality. Where would I start with this? (I already know I will need a camera/mic, lots of storage etc.)

Start with GoRobotics, especially the Grand Tutorial. You might also want to buy the Robot Builder’s Bonanza. Notice how there are not many large humanoid robots out there? There are reason for that which you will discover. The Honda Asimo robot is about 4.2 feet tall and you can buy one for about $1 million. ATLAS is trying its best to compete.
