Help selecting a robot arm

Looking for assistance with robot arm.

Wish for the arm to pick up plastic bottle caps, place them on a die for hole punching, remove them from die after punching, place them on jig to line them up for laser burning logo, remove them from jig after burning and drop them in a carton.

Appreciate recommendations, advice, design offers, etc.

What is the workspace area for your project? A fair appreciation for what I’m gunning for may be gained from this video.

What is your budget? Good question. I’m weak in the field of budgeting for purchases. Once I get a look at someone’s proposed solution and know the cost, I’ll be better able to set a budget.

When choosing a robotic manipulator for a project you need to keep the following things in mind:

  • Payload: How much weight does the arm have to carry? Does it need to carry that weight when it is at full extension?
  • Maximum range: What is the longest distance the arm should travel?
  • Speed: Does it have to perform the actions at a certain speed?
  • Precision: How accurate should it be?
  • Degrees of Freedom : Does it have to achieve certain freedom of movement? (Go up-down, left-right, etc)

You can find a wide selection of Robotic Arms in the Robotic Arms & Grippers section of the store, a great option is LSS Robotic Arm because it allows customization and expansion for applications through the use of additional parts, includes a power supply, connects to a PC with a USB cable (for programming), it has smart servos that can be easily programmed using the LSS communication protocol (which is human readable), or you could also use other programming languages, for example there are Arduino and Python libraries for it, it also has a graphical user interface (LSS FlowArm) and it is a RobotShop original so you will be able to get all the support and information you need.
