Help Required. Willing to pay for professional design ass

Hi everyone,
Not sure if this is the right zone to ask…

If i explain the project you can have a look!

We are trying to build a basic linear actuator / moving drill system.
There will be 12 lightweight drill motors mounted (fixed position) to a strip of plywood at 120mm centres, the plywood will be attached to a table/frame using HD drawer runners.

What we need help with is the robotics/automation element.
I need a switch to activate a motor or parallel set of linear actuators, that will allow travel of min 150mm.
The drill heights will be staggered by a few mm, so that the pressure required to push through the material is minimal.
(We are drilling a row of 5mm holes in 1.5mm thick aluminium angle)
By attaching the actuators to the moving part we can drill through our part.

It would need some sort of limit switch potentially? so we can set a point at which for the motors to stop and return to the ‘home’ position.

I’ve anyone is able to offer advice? Like i said, if someone wants to contact us to offer us a personal design service using the products available here online we would be very interested!

Many thanks

Unfortunately RobotShop does not offer design / consultation services, but perhaps someone from the community can offer insight.
One approach would be to reach out to a local university’s engineering department and see if any final years students are interested in contract work.
We may be able to offer some insight into the choice of products, and a drawing / image with specifications / dimensions would be appreciated.

This can be done with limit switches and relays , this is the old style 1980
modern style is to use a computer with mach3 program with two step motors or servos
for aluminium stabilization you need arms with air actuators
If you need special drill adjustment the stabilization bar must have bearing to lead the nose of the drills

a sketch, or a few photographs of the object you want to drill would help too
