Help please.

Robot Shop team,

I am purchasing product RB-Esm-11 and am unsure of which gears to purchase. How do I know what fits with this? Which size gears do I need? I am new to the robotics world and am trying to learn and make something of my own.

Thank you,

Kaitlyn Kigin

It looked like it had all it’s timing pulleys and belts. And a motor as well.

Have you received it yet?

Not yet. I I want to buy more gears so I can connect them to other objects to make them spin. So I’m a little stuck on what extra gears to buy to fit with the ones that are on the motor already. Or should I be using a different motor for a situation like that?

Since it uses timing belts and pulleys, gears won’t work. Hard to connect up anything else. I’d just get dedicated motors and gears for what you need.

Ah, makes a lot more sense. Thank you so much for your assistance!

You seem to be referring to RB-Esm-11: robotshop.com/en/1001-315rpm … motor.html
This is a DC brushed gear motor, so that accessories you choose really depend on how you want to use it.
If you want to make a small mobile robot, we offer some wheels and mounts which are directly compatible.

Wow, sorry for the misdirect. That’s not the link I found.

I saw a belt drive with timing belt and pulleys. good to truck a camera back and forth. Can’t find it now.

For this geared drive, you might look for a timing belt pulley; Small Parts has them.

What’s the shaft size? could be 6mm??

I think I may have just been confused again based on the last response. I guess I just need something simple. Gears and a motor that will make them spin. Don’t need anything with belts, pulleys, etc.
I am just having trouble matching up the pieces together, any suggestions?

I basically am looking for a decent motor (or parts, if needed) to make this happen.

It’s more of an art project than actually using the gears? If you just need a few gears of different diameters:

Yes, more of a project. Those references were pretty much what I was looking for, thank you.
