Help please

I am new and I am looking for a little direction. I am sorry if I am breaking any protocol.

I have spent about 8 hours researching solutions and I am still confused. I am hoping someone can shoot me in in the right direction.

I am in the process of building the mannequin robot. I only need the shoulders and elbows to move. Should I use actuators or servos to make the arms move? I understand I need something with a lot of torque that lift a few pounds. I figure at the shoulder I need a pan and tilt motor. For the elbow it appears that the motor is perpendicular to the direction of movement.

I need to limit the arm movement so I know I do not need full rotation motors.

Can anyone suggest any ideas?

Thank you so much for any help

You essentially are looking to create a robotic arm. Do you need the arm to be held horizontally while lifting a weight at the end?
Take a look at the following tutorial / guide to help you select an actuator for each position:

The M100RAK is around the same length as a normal human arm and can support roughly 500g at full extension, but not for extended periods of time:
