Dear Robotshop community,
I am fairly new to the robot community, so please guide and correct me through the following question if necessary. My only experience with building a robot is from a science Olympiad team which was about six months ago. I was wondering (and please tell me if something like this doesn’t exist at all, or it is fairly easy to find) if there was a device that could operate a switch remotely, but yet including a somewhat simple design. For example, turning on and off a LED light; if the device could simply complete the circuit. Keep in mind that I am only 14, so if you could keep it fairly simple, that would be GREAT.
Thanks,
Blake
We’ve actually received inquiries for a product like this quite a bit actually. You essentially need a wireless relay:

This one needs a signal from a microcontroller.
robotshop.com/en/firgelli-au … emote.html
This one is ON and Reverse (for example for a DC motor or linear actuator)
We don’t carry any which are a simply bunch of wireless relays which can be controlled from buttons, though that type of products would likely sell well.
The best way to make a product like that would be to use RC relays and an RC system:
