Help for an old robot arm - Mobile Base Kit

Hi guys,

can somebody help me with a very old device by lynxmotion: A friend gave me his old Lynxmotion Mobile Base Kit (manual from 1996 - Ver. 2.0). This kit has a controller with a PIC16C621 chip. I have 2 questions:
My friend cannot find the cable to connect the PC. On the controller there is a telephone plug (4pin) but I have no clue how the cable is wired and where it is connected to the PC (serial port?). Does somebody has the wiring of this cable?
Secondly my friend could not find the Software and driver needed for that. I also cannot find any support on the Lynxmotion web for such an old device.
It would be great if somebody could help me with this. The robot itself is in a good shape and there is no reason why it should not be fully functional any more.

Many thanks, Thomas

You have either a MiniSSC-II or an SSC-12. Both of them had the RJ45 connector. You can google MiniSSC-II manual to find information on it. We have the old manual for the SSC-12.

There are no drivers. It’s a simple serial servo controller. You send it commands from the serial port on your PC. We never had code for the mobile arm. We sold it as a starter kit only. I no longer have access to the old RoboMotion program for the MiniSSC-II / SSC-12 servo controller.

If you have the minissc-II, the below page and manual has info on using the controller.
