Hi I want to move a a 2KG load around 250mm in a linear motion. ideall with one intermediary stop and a precise stop at each end (pss 238mm apart) - I have no idea where to start looking in your many options. can youplease help me?

If you want an intermediary stop you will need a linear actuator with feedback, also since 250mm is quite a large stroke I suggest checking the Linear Actuators section from higher to lower prices. Here are some good options:
If speed is not a relevant factor then choose one with a high gear ratio / force.
