After about a year of not visiting the Lynxmotion site, I figure I am getting bored of the Minisumo, lets see whats new. BIPEDS !! Holy Cr*p I have been wanting to make one of these for awhile, now Lynx has the parts. Damn I just know this is going to turn into my next/new money sink. Hope to have a compleated skeleton soon, all those servos might have to wait a bit.
You may run into a problem with the skeleton idea.
Because of the way that Jim devised the servo erector set, the servos themselves are crucial links in the biped’s skeleton.
You may find it hard to connect some of the joints without the servos to hold them together.
Just wanted to warn you…
Yeah… what he said ------^
Yeah… what I said ------^
What! You were gone for a year! Holy Crap! I’ve been waiting for you to come back to the website.
Actually you can do a lot with the skeleton without servos. The ball bearing joint holds a lot of the brackets together with out the serovs, so you can get a pretty good idea on what the robot looks like and the range of motion a certain configuration has. I have built up leg skeletons several times without any servos attached with them.

Oh, I wasn’t saying that it wasn’t possible… just difficult.
If you’re going to make a skeleton for anything other than just to get an idea of the layout, I’d suggest creating a rack out of PVC and fishing wire.
That way, you don’t have to constantly hold up a floppy robot.
