It has been shown that stroke patients can learn to use otherwise non-functioning body parts, through repetition of the movements that are missing.I need to move my left hand digits enough to do basic grasping, holding, and possibly picking up of objects. I want to try a robotic hand that moves all the joints of the hand, opening the hand and closing all five digits so that the hand makes a proper fist. Ideally, there would be the possibility of changing the sensitivity as the hand is learning to move the muscles again. Not only would this be a great help for me, but I can't help but think of all the military men and women who could be helped.
