Halloween Animatronics “1” 2009 was an introduction to some of our Halloween display fun.
I had loads of fun building the electronics and robotics/animatronics parts of last year’s display. I am working on some more props this year, some scary, gory stuff for the PG-13 section.
I will have some pictures and drawings coming soon to this arena but I wanted to let you know I am getting the blog back into shape and I would love it if anyone wanted to drop by and let me know what you think.
I want to make the site into something that can be helpful to others wanting to be part of the Halloween fun. Please let me know if there is something that would help you and I will do my best to get it worked in.
We are working without plans! How do I write a DIY guide when we don’t know what the heck we are doing before we see it? If anyone can fill me in on that I am sure my posts will be more helpful…
The giant animatronic skull was the first project I wanted to take on, I don’t know if I thought it would be really complicated or if it’s just a matter of coolness factor. The thing is really coming together!
I will try to get some video. The next step is to start covering the front structure with insulation foam and carve away. I picked up some spray adhesive suggested by a few folks on the web, thought I would try that instead of the liquid nails for foam.
It is a big one. I actually got a request to make one bigger for a stage show. Would be fun, guess I will need a bigger garage!
