Hack a Bot

The forum needs a hackable robot category or thread…

I am on the verge of hacking an omni-bot 2000 to make it autonomous, rc controlled and web controlled… I would love to get ppl’s feed back and ideas…

Omni-bot 2000

Will do I just ordered the RoBoard 100 starter package for this hack project.
It seems like a good feasible idea other then my mini ITX projects… Small foot print… less current draw …

Thanks form the reply…Yes I have… The roboard 100 would be a better choice for me…I can use the usb for wifi… Thanks Bozooka

I have fond memories of the Omnibot 2000. Have you seen the WiFi capable Barracuda Motor Controllers?

One of these Barracuda’s, a simple Linksys router and a webcam and you have a robust WiFi robot platform

Hi bozooka,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. Keep us updated on the status of your project with plenty of images. For now, consider posting your progress in a new thread under “Robot Project Showcase”.

Fortunately The RoBoard’s PWM pins can handle up to 10A. The board itself draws ~1A when connected to a keyboard, mouse and monitor. We will soon have a Debian5 GHO file available to download.
