I want to monitor a signal then when it is closed I want a text message sent to me, can i do this with the sm5100b?
Any suggestions?

Hi Sparky,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. The SM5100B GSM / GPRS Evaluation Board can indeed be used to send SMS text messages, although if you want to connect it to a circuit, you will need a microcontroller. Note that the board does not come with the SM5100B module itself which must be purchased separately.
