Hi,
I just wanted to post a link to this video of a lecture by professor Robert J. Full. A must see for every roboteers and very inspiring!
That was very interesting. You should have a look at this video here:
youtube.com/watch?v=oozFn2d45tg
It’s about A.I. and has three parts. It might be a bore for some people but for me I have a fascination about A.I.
great find! i watched him in a robotics doc about 10 years ago and i was hooked!
it was a program called robocritters. all about the study of natures design and how 'not to copy it, but improve on it. lots of interesting junkbots and solarbots and things were also featured along side robots fish, snakes, lizards, crabs and flies!!
Full’s work does interest me loads, as im sure it does others.
they have fabricated the gecko’s dry adhesive, iv seen a few vids of it. very cool. peeling action and everything. one vid had the foot attached to a weight, only holding on by complete friction surface contact!
just shows you that not only studying the mechanical designs of nature, to create better robot mechanics, or grasp the techniques used, we can move forward in other things and not just robotics!!
very cool. come on LM! any mecko-bots?
