Graduation Project on robots swarm

Hi everybody,

I am a CS student in the senior year,

My group and I would like our graduation project to be about the swarm in robots,
what I’m looking for is a robot that could be programmed in programming language such as ( C, java, python, etc… )

I would like this robot to be able to scan or take picture of its surrounding, also to be able to grab things and carry them,

I’m not that experienced in robots, so I would really appreciate it if you could help me specifying the kind of robot to buy.

thank you all for your time, and I wish you a great day.

So, a mobile robot, with gripper and camera? Do you have an idea of your budget per robot, what kinds of “things” you want it to grab and carry?
Do you have an idea of the size, and if you prefer two wheels, four wheels, tracks, mecanum etc?
We assume this will be indoors only on flat surfaces?
robotshop.com/en/wheeled-dev … forms.html

Thank you so much for your response,

yes we’ve made our minds up to the idea and we know the requirements of the robot,
I just needed a programmable robot in high programming languages, and we can search exactly for the rest of the specification…

again thank you for your time,

best regards.

In order to suggest options, we still need your input:

1- the budget is around 200 dollars.
2- some small books, say for example novels with the dimensions 6x9 inches
3- no specification of the size and weight, as long as it can perform carry the stuff and move around.
4- yes it will be only indoors with flat surfaces…

Unfortunately $200 for a robot with a single board computer (camera requirement), and gripper would require that you create a custom robot.
For example a mobile robot with sensor, gripper, but normal microcontroller is $150 USD:

You would need something which could use a Raspberry Pi:
robotshop.com/en/2wd-beginne … =RB-Elf-42
robotshop.com/en/smart-video … =RB-Suf-40

Very few mobile robots include a gripper. The following custom project may be of interest:
robotshop.com/en/dfrobotshop … s-kit.html (includes mounting for Pi)
robotshop.com/en/raspberry-p … board.html
robotshop.com/en/dc–stepper … ry-pi.html (motor controller)
robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … nium2.html (tilt unit, and second servo can be used for gripper)
robotshop.com/en/lynxmotion- … ervos.html (gripper, no servos)
… you would need power etc.

thank you so much for your recommendation,
I will check them for sure, and maybe create it ourselves by your advice and recommends,

could you please suggest some ready robots even if they are over the budget, so I could get the full idea of the prices?

I’m really grateful for your help

We would have loved to have provided links to robots within your budget which had a single board computer, camera, and gripper, but unfortunately we do not have any. If you are prepared to look beyond your budget:
robotshop.com/en/ez-robot-re … =RB-Ezr-06 (does not have a full single board computer though, or a scanner)
robotshop.com/en/ez-robot-ba … =RB-Ezr-23 (same issues as the model above)

Professional options:
robotshop.com/en/robot-scout … =RB-Drr-11
robotshop.com/en/dr-robot-sc … =RB-Drr-17

Your best “value”, especially considering you are looking to eventually create a “swarm”, is to opt for a custom solution using a Raspberry Pi.

Thank you so much, you were a great help!

we are ready to raise the budget in order to get the robot that will get us the best result,
thanks a lot for your help and time,

best regards…
