If you tinker around with electronics long enough, you'll eventually accumulate a bin full of random spare parts. Today I take out some components from my 25+ year old collection. I bring back to life an old single-digit 7-segment display that I cut out of something rather. I haven't really touched this part for decades... turns out it still works just fine.
I connected the seven positive wires to D2-D8 on the Nano Flip (using the NTEA-MD). After figuring out which wire corresponds to which segment, I wrote a sketch that shows two different modes. One is a type of chasing LEDs, and the other counts from 0 to 9 and repeats.
Just for fun, hope you enjoy :)
