Ok, soo.... I'm working on a big robot. Its a spider tank style deal. ..almost finished. I've been working on it for a while. Actually, i have 26 youtube videos on it. Here's the first one...
Hi Jamie, I saw your spider robot ages back and followed the videos. Nice to have you on LMR!
There was a forum post a few months ago with the video of your model spidertank and the poster wanted to know how it worked. I put up a quick pic of what I thought the mechanism inside was like. I wonder if you could critique it? Tell me if Im on the right track? :)

(Im not looking to steal your idea. I, like most other roboteers love to know how things work.)
edit: found it. And it was already linked in the other thread anyway.
Awsome!!! My wife and I just started to watch the videos and love your documentation! As Red Green always says “If the women don’t find ya handsome, they’ll at least find ya handy”…LOL
I think its cool. Actually, the fac that the thing can walk in any direction makes it perfect for going toward targets, or around obstacels and things like that. It gives a lot of options for IR sensors and stuff like that. A wireless camera ontop would be cool too.
Really, I figure half the people who’d want one of these will make whatever kind of head they want on it.
I’m sort of hoping someone else will chime in here. I’m not big on aesthetics. I make things work, and they generally end up looking pretty good. I rarely put extraneous things on them. You guys are the marketting geniuses, though. I’d say go with what you think will work well. Actually… it is nice to have something on the head indicating which direction its facing. …since there’s no actual front or back to the body.
