Hi to al im new in this, my printer is setup and ready, but i'm trying to make a parts from a draw and i dont know how to do that, im using repetier for printing, also i found freecad and Slic3r
The way dickel works, The way dickel works, mostly, is by using layers of plastic put together to create a 3d object.
You might be better off figuring out what the 3d object is and then creating that directly.
Or you could use OpenSCAD to do this failry easily. First, vectorize the image (convert to a vector format). Then build the 3d form in OpenSCAD by brining in one vector image at a time and extruding this to the height of the plastic dickel is recommending using. If you’ve got multiple identical vectors over each other, you can just use one of them and multiply the height times the number of identical pieces of plastic dickel would have used.
As you import each vector, make sure that the size is correct.
This should work.
If you measure right, you can even make holes in the 3d layers you’re using so you don’t have to drill them.
But before anybody can really recommend packages to do this, what’s your OS? Linux or Windows or Mac?
The vectoring is usual done The vectoring is usual done with Inkscape or the GIMP.
What OS are you frigging using? You’ve been asked this many times and have ignoreed it each time. From now on I ignore you until you tell us. You should also include the other information I asked for in the first posting.
Remember, you are asking for help, and the more information we have, the better we can help you.
You provide a link to the image you are working from, and, I will convert one piece. Having said that. You would be better off learning how to use one of the CAD programs to create 3d parts that can be sliced. 3d printers are meant to make (mostly) complete parts rather than a whole slew of parts that you then finally assemble.
i found i n youtube few tutorial of how to do vectoring from a picture or template, also last night i make a single cube with a hole in the middle just for test and i created it laydown but when i went to Rep it shows the part standup;
