Futaba Motor Control Inquiry (Using SSC32)

Hellow !

I’m using MOTOR through a FUTABA SSC 32 controller.
(Model Name: S3306, S9156)

There is a difference in use. The range of position movement is different between the two models.

The Rotational Range of the two motors are the same. (Rotational Range : 180)
(S9156 spec : https://servodatabase.com/servo/futaba/s9156)

But it is different when controlling the same pulse through its controller

When driving from end to end ( Pulse 500 -> 2500)
S3306 Driving angle is about 180 degrees
S9156 Driving angle is about 150 degrees

What is the reason ?
Please help me.
Thanks.

Hi,

Can you provide a link where it says that the S3306 Servo has a 180 degrees as angular range ?
The specifications on ServoDatabase doesn’t seem to list this information : https://servodatabase.com/servo/futaba/s3306

Hi

This is a reference for purchasing a motor.

The following data is from the Futaba homepage.

The Futaba homepage only shows the driving angle -60 degrees (920 us) to 60 (2120 us) )degrees
(This is the same for both models.
There is no information in the data sheet from the place of purchase.)

Seeing the link you provided on Futaba’s website, both S3306 and S9156 servos are rated for a 120° total angular range with a 920uS to 2120uS pulse. Operating the servos beyond this range with the SSC-32 (500uS to 2500uS) might explain the inconstancy you are experiencing between the 2 servo models.
