Fsr force sensing resistors

Hi
I would like to add force sensing resistors to my arm with the ssc32 at ABCD
Couple questions:

  • Can I buy them here or could you point me to a web location.
  • Are there different lengths
  • Are they plug/play or which gauge wire/connector do I need.
  • Any considerations that I need to worry about, ie soldering, glue.

Thanks Wayne

You need to supply the name of the device you are describing. If it is the flexiforce gizmo, a google search will produce a number of places to purchase it for ~$25.

These are not currently sold here, but Trossen Robotics has what appears to be a nice selection of FSR’s for sale.

Thanks for the response guys.

I just looked at Trossen and saw their fsr’s
The price looks good but I noticed that they are 3 wire connections
and the ssc32 analog adc is 2 wire.

The ground wire has a resistor inbetween it and the return analog input wire.

How would I make the Trossen 3 wire fsr work with the lynxmotion ssc32 ?
Thanks Wayne

Try using conductive foam used for IC packaging. Just stick two wires in.

Good tip, I will see if I can find some. In the meantime I used a hot glue gun to attach the wires to the fsr. Its not a great connection but will do for testing.
Thanks
