Free electronic samples galore!

Here is a list compiled of a bunch of companies that send free samples to people. Most of them send only to business but you can get around that with some smooth talking (basicly tell them your a business). :D

I am getting like 25 packages from different companies. Everything from electronic plastic holders (make great robot bodies) to semiconductor IC's.

best bet is to try by using a non standard(hotmail, gmail, etc) email account and maybe having a website that looks semi professional…who knows…

Or a university mail

Or a university mail account, even better I think.

I already sampled some components, they are delivered very fast in about 3 days or less!

The problem with chips is that they very often in smd size which makes soldering very hard.

Some know a good company to sample motor driver chips? I sampled some nice once but it turned out they are for 12 volts…

L298HN

I got 2 free L298HNs here. They’re a little difficult to prototype with because of the pin arrangement, but what the heck, they’re free. It can operate at 36v and 4A. Oddbot made a component page for it here, and used it in his project here.

Thanks for the tip!
I tried ST but the order was denied…

Thank you for requesting samples from STMicroelectronics. This message is to inform you that we will not be able to process your request.

How did you do it? Did have a catchy story as a project description or did you have a projected sales of over a thousand units?

I don’t know how I did it. I
I don’t know how I did it. I never lie about stuff (except for working for a compay…I lie about that) other than that under product desciption I say its for a robot project. Sometimes I even say that I’m a student and I can not afford to purchase the product, but I need it for an independent robot project… I don’t know, are you from the US, maybe they only ship to the US?

Sweet! Thanks for the info!I

I really hope it DOES go through. I want to eventually do keyless entry for our home, and make it so that certain things are "locked" away when we have kids.
