As some of you might know I’m doing a project concerning air muscles. When building these air muscles, I have a lot of extra pieces because everything comes in packs of 10 or more. So I was thinking that some of you might be interested in experimenting with some air muscles. So these are home made air muscles.
**Here are the specs :
I am willing to make custom length for you guys, just specify ** 8) (strength may vary with the length, price may vary a bit too).
The braid diameter is ~19 mm (3/4 inch) at it’s maximum.
The strength of the muscles vary a bit between these pourcentages (I used 60 PSI to activate them, don’t use this if they aren’t under load, could damage them) :
8.2 lbs -----------31%-35%
13.2 lbs-----------28%-31%
18.2 lbs-----------25%-27%
23.2 lbs-----------21.8%-23.5%
28.2 lbs-----------18.5%-20%
33.2 lbs-----------16.1%-18%
38.2 lbs-----------14.5%-16%
43.2 lbs-----------11.3%-13%
48.2 lbs-----------9.3%-10%
(These mesures are taken between the two wrom drive.)
This was taken with a muscles 31 cm long between the two wrom-drive and 42 cm total length.
The muscle has a 3/8 barb end to connect a 3/8 Inside diameter tube.

I do not know the life expectancy of these air muscles. I have tested them, but no extensive testing.
