Hey everyone, My name is Justin and i am very new to the robotics hobby. I came here hoping to get some questions answered and maybe some advice.
I have very little programming and robotics experience. I have some circuit board knowlege as well as soldering. Very mechianicaly inclined, just lack knowledge on the electrical and programming part.
I had an idea for a robot while I was at work. There are plenty of follow me bot out there and I was wondering, what one is better for following and tracking purpoes?
IR LED, Sonar, GPS tag and module, or the KINECT.
I want to go forward with actualy making a robot bfore I incorporate a following function, so my next question is, how?
I could buy a kit, assemble it, and have a working bot, but thats no fun. I want to be able learn how to program it, make it work. Is there any good software out there that I can learn off of while I make progress with my bot?
And my last question, ARDUINO. That word is very intimidating to me simply becasue I have seen one before, but have no idea what it is, or how I can go about using it in my bot.
I hope I didnt cause too many grey hairs. I have build many a things in my life, and robotics and programmming are my next challenge I want to conquer. Thank you all in advance for the help.
