At what range of distance will be the picture of the camera Arducam 12MP IMX477 USB-Kameramodul mit 2,8-12 mm clear and sharp?

Have you tested how close you can go with the camera while you still get clear and sharp pictures.
I am asking because we are looking for a camera to install in a laser engraver for making videos on the engraving process.

Here is a reply from Arducam:

Sorry for the late reply.

As the lens is the varifocal lens, so the image can be clear at a distance of 10mm and above if adjusted properly.
