FlowArm PLTW can not find my Lynxmotion AL5D PLTW Robot Arm

I just built the arm. SSC-32 Servo Sequencer can recognize the arm once I set it to 9600Baud. But FlowArm does not seem to have the ability to set baud rate. It does not recognize the arm. I have tried reloading the app and various power sequences. I am connecting with USB. Any suggestions?

Hi,

The baud rate in [RB-Dsp-11] is set by activating/deactivating the Bluetooth icon near the COM port selection. If the icon is active (blue), then the baud rate is set automatically to 9600. Otherwise, it is 115200 by default.

Are you using the latest version of FlowArm PLTW (it is 3.0.0.0)? If not, we recommend that you obtain the automatic update. If the software did not update automatically, you may have to check your anti-virus and firewall settings, as they may block the update process (especially anti-virus software blocking HTTP to our update server).

Sincerely,

Thanks a lot. That did the trick. I have been impressed with the support. That said, I have a been disappointed with the lack of documentation for various things I have purchased. For instance, is there a manual for FlowArm PLTW? Why would anyone use a bluetooth symbol to set baud rate? How would I know that fact without someone like you telling me? I’m not upset. But I am curious.

Now that FlowArm is working, it appears I have mounted the large servo that sits on the base wrong. It moves in the opposite direction than Flowarm. Is there a way for me to reverse the direction in FlowArm?

All the pictures in the instructions show both the base (largest) and the elbow servos are lined up in the same direction. Which is how I have it now. But FlowArm is moving the largest servo in the wrong direction. So I must have it wrong. Which would mean the pictures are wrong? I’m confused.

Hi,

The manual for FlowArm PLTW can be found in the software itself. The link is at the top of the window near the middle (“Manuals”). Once you click it, you will get two options. Click the first one for a direct link to the manual, found here. See the attached image for details.

Sincerely,

In regards to the servo, if it is moving backwards, you likely have a Feetch servo rather than an 805. Please follow the procedure here:
