I want to fit a Lynxmotion HUB-02 6mm Hub into a 1/4in Precision D-Shafting, is that doable with any extra hardware ? (I’m thinking 6mm is very close to 1/4in=6.35mm)

You could try to accurately drill out the 6mm hole to 1/4 inch (1/4" is 6.35mm so it would not be taking much off)
Otherwise if you can’t modify either part, you would need something called a “shaft coupler” which is essentially a solid cylinder with two different sized holes at either end (usually drilled halfway).

You would need a short length of 6mm shaft to couple to.
I will go with the drill option, hopefully, I will not end up with a broken hub 
Likely not. Just measure twice and cut once to try to ensure it’s centered.
