This is my first quad-copter project and I am at a bit of stand still.
I have a Hunter Vtail 500 large motor frame with the Quadrino Nano flight controller w/gps. I am using a Turnigy 9x transmitter w/ 8ch reciever.
After allot of reading and many props later I have managed to get it to consistently take off and fly without trying to tip over. The problem I am having now when I try to maneuver the Vtail around I have some opposite reactions. The Thr, Roll, and Yaw all operate as expected but when I change the pitch it does a mirror of what I would like it to. (forward=backward) In wingui it shows as I push the stick forward pitch dropping down to 1000 but the front 2 motors speed up. I have tried reversing the function on my transmitter but it doesn’t seem to do anything.
On a separate note I used to be able to acquire my GPS position right at my workbench but now I cant get a GPS signal even if I leave it outside for an hour. Is there an optimal place for the GPS antenna or things to avoid putting near it?
The first thing to look at is the “1000 / 2000” values in the WinGUI.
You said that reversing the channel in your transmitter didn’t do anything ? This is not possible, reversing the channel should change the value read by the Quadrino from 1000 to 2000 for a stick movement.
Here are the correct values that you should be looking at in WinGUI (according to the Quadrino Nano manual)
About the GPS - Do you have a hard time getting it to lock ? Where are you looking at for a Lock ?
Yes the values are set up like they are in that diagram. When I go into the transmitter functions and reverse the pitch it still has forward as 1000 and back as 2000. I’m starting to wonder if I need to rebind the receiver after I do it? It seeming more of a transmitter issue that one with the quad. The gps used to lock on really easy, but now I can’t seem to get it to work even if I’m working on it outside. In wingui it would pull up my location and show the movements as I walked around with it, but now I get nothing. I recalibrate the mag according to the diagrams and instructions and still nothing. Maybe I have a setting that got turned off or set improperly?
You should reverse the Channel which is related to the Pitch function.
Here is a little video found online about how to change the channels directions:
Usually it’s instantaneous, no need to re-bind or anything else.
When looking at the blue LED right next to the SMA antenna connector, what’s happening when you power and let it there for a while ?
