Firmware upload Atmega 168 V2

Hi guys,

My problem is…

I have a Hexapod and would load the Firmware 2.03XE.abl to my Atmega (i have a bootloader).

But i get anytime any error: Error: Verifying Address: 2B00 (Hex)
Firmware update failed !

You may check the SSC-32 power supply, communication parameters and serial connection, then retry to update the firmware…

I use a USB to RS232 cable with an FTDI chip. I have set the latency to the minimum (1) und the receive and transmit bytes are 4096. I powered the Botboard II and the SSC 32 with 9V and the 18 servos (Hexapod) with 6V.

My baudrate is already at 115,2 k.

Also i use a USB HUB.

please write back soon.

PS.: Sry for my bad englisch i come from Austria.

What chip is in the SSC-32, mega 8 or mega 168? And is it blank?

mega168
nope there is a bootloader on it

Are you able to do VER and get the firmware version?

if i type VER, then nothing happens.
and I want to load the firmware version 2.03XE (i have the firmware saved on my PC)

Did it used to report the firmware VER before you tried to update the firmware?

yes

I don’t know what to tell ya. I haven’t heard of anyone trashing the firmware doing an update. Of course anythings possible. You need to check with your distributor to see if they carry the V2 replacement chip.

Maybe just check battery voltage.
It may have fail during update. And now can’t even start updating ?

Just a suggestion !

A couple of quick obvious things to check.
a) Your battery is charged…
b) Check to make sure that both baud rate jumpers on the SSC-32 are in place for the 115200
c) What is your wiring to the SSC-32? Do you have the communication jumpers in place to have it talk to the PC or does it have wires connecting it to the BB2?
d) Try removing all wires but power from the SSC-32 and see if that works.

That is all for now.
Kurt

I have a full 9V block battery.

the jumpers are installed.

it have wires to connecting to the bb2

i have removed all wires and powered only the board, but the same error =(

but thank you for your helps =D

Last question… Do you see the green LED light up on the SSC-32 when power is applied? If yes the firmware is working. If no the firmware is corrupt.

Witch wire to the BB2 ?

Make sure you don’t connect serial from SSC-32 to Botboard since there is only one serial interface on SSC-32. Check thoses jumpers…!

=DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD yeeees this is it … Thank you so much =DD

Wahou…!
Now i am a pro… i have help someone… (Sorry…)
