EZ Robot Servo Gripper - will it hold knitting needle?

I’m trying to build something that will hold a knitting needle (so that my mum who recently had a stroke can knit with one hand).

I’m looking at this product - https://uk.robotshop.com/products/ez-robot-servo-gripper

I’m not sure how solid the foam is, would it hold a 6mm knitting needle fairly firmly between the foam?

I doubt that this gripper will hold firmly such a small object.

I think you need something better…
