Ev3 omni telerobotic with anti-collision system

Hi.

I finally managed to build my EV3 omni/holonimic telerobot with anti collision-system. If you drive to close to anything it stop and reverse a bit, if needed. Sensitivity and reverse is adjustable.

I will equippe them with laser tag weapons and laser aim system and so on.

It can be remote controlled over the internet with live camera stream, so it is a internet camera robot, (that moves like a computer avatar in FPS computer game).

It can be controlled over the internet from a mobile phone, ipad or computer, from a browser.

I plan to build a internet game so that you can log in to robots and have a game with them like in https://www.isotopium.com/ .

I did this on ADSL already 2005 and had people playing with my robots from all over the world.

Here is one guy in Australia that explain how it was 2005.

You can build it your selfe.

You need a

  1. Mindstorms robot

  2. Building instructions. http://thetechnicgear.com/2014/04/howto-build-3-wheels-holonomic-robot-using-lego/

  3. An android phone with a Google app called RoboCam. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.proghouse.robocam&hl=en_US

  4. 3 Omni wheels and 3 Large Servo Motor.

  5. 4 Ultrasonic Sensors

Hello @Jlivingstonsg and welcome to the RobotShop community :grinning:

That is an awesome project!! Thanks for sharing it and giving the instructions to build it! It’s a great project for people who are planning on getting into robotics but don’t know where to start. The only thing is that it would be better if you share it either on the robots section or tutorials so people looking for inspiration can find it more easily. The forum is more for questions or people looking for advice but your project is already finished so it would be great if you could move it to one of those sections.

Again thank you for sharing and keep up the good work!

Welcome to the forum. That is a really cool project and I’d definitely be interested in the finished product. It seems like you’ll need a lot of space to be able to accomplish this, are you planning on using a warehouse for the map?

How do you plan on dealing with power (battery) issues? Most robots only seem to run for 15 to 30 minutes before having to swap batteries or charge the device?

Electric floor grid.

It would be cool if you get this up and running and let people fund their own bot or build and send it to you based on your specs.

I have been planning this since 2005.
I can finally do it now when we recently got fast fiber Internet. I am now trying to code a website like isotopium.com that automatic link people to a robot and then kick them our by timer in PHP or something. If you know any code like that , give me a link. :grinning:

Sorry, not my thing. I’m more of a SQL/VB guy that also knows BASIC and some other crap.
